पद रत्नाकर वस्तुतः भाईजी श्री हनुमान प्रसाद पोद्दार जी के अंतर्हृदय में नित्य विराजित श्री राधा माधवका चिद्विलास है। भक्ति रैस्क मार्गमें व्रज रास्का स्थान बहुत ऊँचा माना गया है। इस काव्य वाणीका ‘व्रज रस’ ही एक प्रमुख विषय है। राधा माधव प्रेम सम्बन्धी इन पदोंने जहा एक ओर प्रेमी भक्तों एवं साधकों को सुधा समुद्र में अवगाहन कराया, वही दूसरी ओर कवियों, लेखकों अवाम साहित्यकारों को एक विलक्षण दिशा दिखायी है। श्री राधा कृष्ण के उज्ज्वलतम प्रेम का दर्शन कराया है। यह काव्य वाणी श्री राधा-माधव सम्बन्धी मिथ्या भ्रमसे युक्त शंकाओंका सदैव निर्मूल करके दिव्य सुधा-धाराको ही प्रवाहित करती रहेंगी।

व्रज रस एवं प्रेम तत्व के मधुर चित्रणके अतिरिक्त इस संग्रह में ‘भगवन्नाम महिमा’, ‘भगवान के स्वभाव’, भगवान श्री राम, विष्णु, शिव, दुर्गा, गणेश, सूर्या आदिके ध्यान, गुण गान एवं वंदना। श्रीमद्भागवत के विविध प्रसंग, व्यवहार परमार्थ, और ‘अनुभूति’ आदि विषयोंके सुंदर एवं हृदय स्पर्शी पद भी बहुत है।

Pad Ratnakar is actually the Chidvilas of Shri Radha Madhav who is always present in the heart of brother Shri Hanuman Prasad Poddar Ji. Vraj Raska place is considered very high in the path of Bhakti Raska. ‘Vraj Rasa’ is the main theme of this poetic expression. While on one hand these verses related to Radha Madhav love have made the loving devotees and seekers aware in the ocean of Sudha, on the other hand they have shown a unique direction to the poets, writers and litterateurs. Apart from the sweet depiction of Vraj Rasa and love element, this collection also includes ‘Glory to God’, ‘Nature of God’, meditation, praise and worship of Lord Shri Ram, Vishnu, Shiva, Durga, Ganesh, Surya etc. There are many beautiful and heart touching verses of Shrimad Bhagwat on various topics like behaviour, spiritual knowledge, ‘divineness’ etc.
